Byblos Bank Supports Local NGOs for the 7th Year in a Row

Beirut, 27 March 2019: For the seventh year in a row, Byblos Bank made a donation to Lebanese non-governmental organizations (NGOs) during a ceremony held at the Bank’s headquarters in Ashrafieh.

This donation of USD 52,000 is the result of an initiative through which Byblos Bank’s Commercial Banking Division asks the suppliers of its end-year gifts to donate a share of their profits; the Bank then adds an equal share to support the designated NGOs.

For the occasion, Mr. Fadi Nassar, Deputy General Manager and Head of Group Commercial Banking at Byblos Bank, said: “This unique initiative that started seven years ago continues with the same momentum and commitment to serve social causes.” He added: “The strong partnerships we have established with our suppliers, whom I thank for their genuine commitment and values, is what truly ensured the sustainability of this endeavor. Its success over the years has caught the attention of new suppliers who are showing interest in joining and contributing to help local NGOs in their missions.”

For her part Carole Abi Habib, from AUB Sickle Cell Fund, one of the recipient NGOs said: “Aside from the much needed financial assistance it provides, this one-of-a-kind initiative also offers greater visibility and exposure to local NGOs and contributes to conveying the cause they work on by connecting them to key players in society.”

The suppliers participating in Byblos Bank’s initiative for this year are: Vintage Wine Cellar, Les Caves de Taillevent, Ethel, Vincenti & Sons, Patchi, and Enoteca.
